This is the injectable Botox that is used to tighten the frown lines, vertical brow lines and crows feet. It is also still used to treat migraine headaches. There are other areas that Botox is used but none of which I've had first hand experience with.
The average cost ranges between $200.00 and $500.00 +/-
It takes about a full week to see the complete results of treatment. It lasts between 3-5 months. What got my interest sparked were all of my guests who volunteered they'd received it but I honestly couldn't tell that it had been done. Yes, this is a great thing because you may still have a natural expression line here and there but you don't want to look frozen!!! I thought about getting it done for preventative reasons. Yes, I've earned every one of my lines which I love, but this, in my opinion is a beautiful and safe enhancement that does just that, enhance. Less is more and I'm not regular with my treatments. Even with my professional discount the cost is high for my budget. I get treatments about every 8 to 10 months, sometimes even longer in between. I've had 4 treatments so far only on my forehead area. I'm not a needle loving person and I tell you what, the needle is sooooo fine that I can barely feel it going in to my skin. I have never used a pre-treatment of lidocaine or anything else. I don't think it's necessary for me. I just apply a little cool washcloth over the areas treated afterward for 2 minutes and I'm out the door. I've yet to have any bruising or headaches after or during injections. I can't stress enough the importance of conservative amounts. It obviously varies from person to person so just let the dermatologist, nurse or plastic surgeon know what it is you are wanting. It's not a waste of money, it's a safer approach, especially if you're a first timer. If you're not, don't get too crazy and addicted because you'll look frozen and what's up with that??? For me, I go to a nurse practitioner who I trust and who is a good listener. The more bang for your buck theory doesn't apply to this. :)
The Botox Cosmetic web page gives much insight and education on the entire topic. Just like Retin-A, Botox was discovered to be anti-aging while using it for an entirely different purpose in the first place. You decide for yourself. Good Luck. Won't you join in next week?
Revercel Triple Duty Sunscreen
This 3-in-one spf 45, sheer tint and vit c enriched moisturizer is a true gem of a product.
It's all you need in one and it spreads nicely so you don't need more than a pea size for face, neck and chest.
Around $50.00, it's a little expensive but well worth it. Great for people on the go, no-fuss kinda gals who don't want to have to apply makeup.
The sheer tint is so sheer that it just evens out the skin tone so any skin color could use it.
The fact that there's an spf 45 in there feels satisfying. It's really comfortable and breathable on the skin.
There's the vit c which is great for helping to brighten the skin and support the capillaries from breaking. Green tea and Co Q10 which are wonderful antioxidant and anti-aging ingredients.
You've got to try it to believe it, you'll love the simple clean feel of it. If you wanted to use makeup over it for more coverage, go for it. It doesn't "ball-up" and get texturally challenged. Bonus!

Clarisonic Brush
For a cool $150.00 to $250.00 you can grab the popular Clarisonic brush of your choice. The same manufacturer that invented the Sonicare toothbrush has had these facial brushes out for a few years now but they are still such a popular item for the home care routine.
I've been using the facial brush on my guests' skin and thanks to my mother-in-law, I get to use one on myself at home now!
The brushes are soft and gently spin back and forth to help clean, firm and rejuvenate the skin. There are different textures of brush heads depending on your skins needs. There's also a body brush that's a little more stiff for the drier areas of the body. You can put your cleanser on then hold the Clarisonic to the skin and just gently move the brush to all the areas of the face, neck and chest. The "beeps" help to guide you to different areas of the skin at one time but you can re-start just by pushing the button. Easy.
It's not imperative to use this every day but if you're exceptionally oily and have really thick, non-sensitive skin, go for it. You could even use it for both your a.m and p.m cleansing. For more sensitive skins try using it at night or every other night. Don't forget that you can use it more frequently on the neck, chest, back of the arms and even back of the hands!!! Great for men too! It's waterproof so you could leave it in the shower in between uses. I'm actually loving the way it feels on my skin and we all need a little exercise on our skin to keep it from falling down too fast! I love that too. I use it about 3 times a week in the shower. Give it a look/see and read up on the different options that might work for you. Won't you join me next week???????

Terme Di Salsomaggiore After Shave
My husband is not usually high maintenance with his facial products but he discovered this one and is hooked. For a 1.7 oz tube it's around $50.00.
This Italian after shave is a lightweight cream and it's incredibly clean smelling with a hint of sexy.
Sandalwood and green tea nourish the skin and it's also got vit e which repairs and softens the skin.
There are lots of minerals from the Salsomaggiore lakes which help to purify and deepen the absorption of ingredients.
The texture is extremely soft and gets in quick without any residue.
He likes that it moisturizes as it's healing and cooling the skin. He uses about a 1/2 dime size and applies it all over the shaved area.
I'll be starting back next week with some of my favorite things again. Won't ya join me then?

Nick Relief Styptic Pencil
For an easy $2.50 at drugstores, you can get some real relief from razor nicks and/or minor cuts using this tried and true pencil.
My husband sometimes cuts himself in the same area while he shaves and ALWAYS reaches for a styptic pencil. Made of aluminum sulfate and titanium dioxide, wetting the tip and lightly pressing it on the nick/cut stops the bleeding immediately. Say goodbye to teeny weeny irritating bloody tissue balls!
Aluminum sulfate helps with contracting the blood vessels which enables the blood flow to the targeted area to lessen or stop. The faster the bleeding stops the lower the risk of infection. Titanium dioxide is used in sun protection products. It has a resistance to discoloration on the skin and acts as a thickening agent. All of this is super for treating minor razor cuts for men and women and anyone who likes to climb around in the trees and bushes while hiking or biking. ***Bonus: Add one to your basic first aid kit.
These unique pencils used to be more common when straight razors were the way for men to shave. You'll see more and more "barbering" services become available again because the old-fashioned barber shave is making it's way back!
There is a slight sting when applying the pencil but it beats dripping blood at the Dunkies or Peet's counter.
Tissue just doesn't do the trick and it looks scary. For this price what do you have to lose? Oh and did I mention my $2.50 included 2 pencils? Check it out ya'll and come and join me next week.

True Gentleman Pre Shave Oil in Lavender
I thought it would be important to touch on a few mens products because men need to keep up with their skin too. 1.7 oz. for around $20.00 on-line. A few drops go a very long way.
Because I'm married to the sexiest and best looking guy in the universe, no kidding, I wanted to reach into his repertoire and make some observations. He really is a typical, less is more kinda guy when it comes to his routine but it's really about what key products he does use and how they effect his skin.
This pre-shave oil is especially for the face and neck and really nourishes deep into the skin. He then puts a shave cream (foam) on top then shaves. The lavender is healing to the skin and helps to lessen the amount of in-growns. Lavender is also known to de-stress the mind and calm you down. It also acts as an antiseptic. A lovely essential oil, indeed. The oil is a deep moisturizing component and lessens the amount of dryness after shaving also.
Apply 2-3 pumps and moisturize into the skin, the apply your shave cream of choice.
If you wanted to use the pre-shave oil AFTER shaving too, go for it! Just remember to apply a sunscreen over it. Everyday.
Don't be afraid of facial oils, they're so nourishing and softening to the skin and they absolutely don't break your skin out. Who wouldn't love that?

Kiehl's Original Musk Body Lotion
This unisex lotion is so romantic with just a hint of fragrance making it intriguing to many.
At around $20.00 for an 8.4 oz bottle, it makes a great addition to either a day w/ t-shirt and jeans or a date night dress.
Musk is a "love" scent and really attracts people to it.
If you wanted to use as a perfume/cologne, only use it on the pressure points, like the inside of the wrists or behind the ears. Just a dab will do ya. Or you could just apply all over for moisturizing and fragrance.
I tend to use the product both ways. Less is more though because of the intense scent.
Have fun with it and meet me back in a week when I start talking about men's products!
